Short Film: Spike Jonze & Kanye West – We Were Once A Fairytale

Last night, Kanye West surprised the audience at the Los Angeles Film Festival with the debut of the short film We Were Once A Fairytale, directed by Spike Jonze. What was initially supposed to be a music video for the 808’s & Heartbreak track that now has a mind of it’s own.

They go on to say that the video takes what people like and hate about Ye’s persona and pushes it to the limit, the video also “walks the fine line between self aggrandizement and self mockery.” The piece also mentions that the song has beens remixed (sort of like Paranoid was) and that it was done by Spike Jonze’ brother, Squeak E. Clean of N.A.S.A.
